A Good Finish

Cam played in his second tournament of the summer golf season today.  It was a two day event at Pretty Lake in Plymouth.  We were there in plenty of time for his 8:48 tee time, but due to heavy fog, the start times were all delayed an hour.  Cam spent most of that time the putting green.  Grandma Jane had ridden along with us and decided to get a cart for the round.  By the time we had gotten situated, the fog had lifted and Cam was finally able to tee off close to 10 a.m.

The first hole was a rough one for him, which didn't surprise us with the long delays, leaving Cam with a triple bogey.  The next hole couple of holes did not get much better for him as the greens were unlike those he had played in the past.  At the end of the front nine Cam had shot a 47.  It wasn't his best score, but he was pretty positive when he walked off the green.  He decided to make 89 his goal.  I  told him 94 or better would be great as that was Cal's first eighteen hole round score at this course.

Mom and I followed him on the back, hoping for a turn around.  There were glimpses of greatness with a birdie on fourteen and moments of not with a double par on eleven.  In the end Cam finished strong chipping it in for bogey on seventeen and a par on eighteen.  He was proud of the 94 that he shot and was thankful that this tournament was a two day event.  He spent the evening working on his putting and coming up with ideas to better his score tomorrow.
