Today Doug and I went to Jacob Schwartz's wedding. He was in Brett's class at Wawasee and we have known the family for a long time. Although it was a little chilly when it started, it was a beautiful day to get married outside with the sun and the fall colors as background. The reception was inside a converted barn that also housed a brewery. We sat with the Goralczyk family and enjoyed catching up with those who passed by our table, especially Miss Suzanne. She had a lot of memories to share with us from. her days as Brett and Cal's preschool teacher. Nelson's catered the reception and the food was delicious. All in all it was a nice way to celebrate the start of a new life.
While we were waiting to eat Ron stopped by to chat with us. Jake and Breann had asked him to officiate at their wedding, so he then became ordained via the internet. He offered his services for the Heinisch children if we were interested. We laughed, but said that we were good. Doug and I talked later about weddings and grandchildren and realized that we were not ready for either. I still feel like there has been a lot that Brett, Cal, Meg and Cam have needed our help with this past year. I cannot imagine adding spouses and children to that as well. In the end it really won't be our choice and we will adjust as needed. Right now we will just enjoy our current family.
