There was a girl's scrimmage tonight for Bethany basketball, but Meg wasn't allowed to play. In fact because she missed the Fall Break practices she won't be eligible to participate in a game until November 9th. I don't quite agree with the philosophy of it as I believe that Fall Break practices should not ever be mandatory, but Meg didn't seem to mind. Thus, we have no problem with her waiting to play. It will give her time to practice and to learn their new defense. She really enjoys her teammates and coaches, so being a part of the team was important to her for more reasons than just playing basketball. We definitely support that.
The nice part about her sitting out tonight was that it freed up an evening for us. I was able to finish putting away all of the laundry, luggage and souvenirs from Walt Disney World. Cam had practice after school and then went to the scrimmage. Just like Meg he enjoys his coach and teammates a lot this year. Tonight he was happy to report that practice was a lot of fun, even though he and Joey lost a bet to Troy and had to run a down and back. I guess they won't doubt Coach's three point shot again.
