Celebrating Fall

Today was the perfect day for some fall activities. The weather was beautiful and with the changing leaves it actually looked like fall too.  Doug used the day to take in all of the outside summer decorations and to move the potted plants that were still in bloom to Mom's garage.  Our hope was that the hibiscus would make it through the winter that way.  Cam took advantage of the nice weather to play nine holes with Mom.  He was proud of the 40 that he shot from the reds.  Meg had an easy afternoon with only a few items to catch up on for the week.  She was glad to relax.  I enjoyed walking in the sunshine.  Although it was still in the 50s, the wind and rain of a couple of days ago was gone.

The most important fall activity on our agenda today was carving pumpkins.  Meg and Cam had each picked one out last weekend at Fashion Farm.  Meg went with a smaller one this year and was happy that she had less to clean out.  Cam stayed with his plan of getting the biggest one that he could lift.  It took some time, but in the end both jack o'lanterns turned out well and looked fantastic on our front porch.  Glad that Meg and Cam decided to continue the Heinisch tradition as the pumpkins were a wonderful addition to our fall decorations.
