A New Quarter

Today started a new quarter for both Cam and Meg.  My hope for them was that it would be a lot less stressful than the first one.  With soccer for both, Doug's increased workload and college applications to fill out, it was a busy one for all.  Cam was optimistic about his fresh start.  He had decided not to play basketball this year which will free up a lot of time for him in the upcoming months.  He planned to use that extra time to focus on chess and tennis.  Tonight both of those were put on hold, however, as he took advantage of the 80+ degree day to shoot an 89 at Maxwelton.

Meg will be playing basketball this winter, but was confident that it would be a great season.  She appreciates her coaches' support and has made quite a few friends on the team.  She finished the SAT today for the third and final time, thus ending her need to practice for that.  She does have to job shadowing next week and fish fry tickets to sell, but neither of those events should cause too much stress.

Doug's workload will not let up anytime soon, but we've adjusted to it well.  The only bad part has been that we haven't been able to start The Sopranos like Cal asked us to do.  Even though that has been the case, we have still been able to enjoy family life when Doug has not been working.  With me at home to stay on top of our to-do list, our weekends have actually freed up more than was typical in the past.  Thus, I will forever be thankful that I was able to quit teaching and support the Heinisch family from home.
