Bethany requires that all of their seniors spend two days job shadowing as a requirement for graduation. Meg had to pick two different occupations and knew exactly which one that she wanted to start with - her Dad. Although she couldn't technically follow him around for the day, she could shadow those in the accounting department that report to him. Therefore, she left this morning at 8 ready to spend a day at Champion.
She called me when it was over to report on her day at work. Although she was assigned to the account manager, she also got to spend time with accounts receivable, accounts payable and human resources. She said that her favorites were hr and accounts receivable. She could, however, see herself as an account manager, but definitely wasn't ready for the daily demands of life as a CFO. While there she also got to attend meetings and even work on a few projects. Her favorite part was going to Lucchese's with her Dad for lunch. All in all it was a great experience for her. She absolutely could see herself working in the business field one day. Doug and I were both glad to hear that and were thankful that Bethany provided this opportunity for her.
