When Cameron and I planned to visit Doug in Ocala this weekend, his main priority was playing golf. I was just happy to be able to have a break from the winter blues. It had been a cold, snowy February and even though it was forecasted to be warmer in Indiana this weekend, I knew that it would be nicer in Florida. I definitely was correct as the daytime temperatures in Ocala stayed in the mid 80s for the most part. Even the night time temps were unseasonably warm.
The three of us were thankful for the warmth and took advantage of it to the fullest by not only playing golf but spending most of our free time outside either taking walks or eating in the fresh air. We even made a trip over to Disney Springs last night. The weather was perfect for our nighttime adventure. Cameron chose a couple of stores for shopping. He found a birthday gift for Meg, and I bought a new wallet for myself. After we went shopping we stopped for dinner at Splitsville. It was harder to find a table than on our previous visits, but after scouting out a few, Doug found one for us. Dinner was great as always and we enjoyed being outside. Afterward we walked over to Gideon's Bakery. We had put our name in the virtual queue when we first arrived at Disney Springs. At that time they said that it would be a four hour wait. Even after shopping and finishing dinner we still had an hour left before we could purchase our favorite cookies. Doug decided to ask if we could get in early and thankfully they said that they were just going to text us. We each picked out one for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed our choices. It was a great way to spend a warm winter night in Florida.
