Senior Night for Girls' Basketball

When Meg graduated in 2019, I thought that we had attended our last high school girls' basketball game and definitely our last girls' basketball senior night.  That was not to be the case, however, as in October of 2021, Cameron asked me what I thought about him being a statistician for the girls' basketball team.  I was completely surprised.  I had never even considered that he would be interested in that position.  Austin must have thought differently, however as he had asked him in the fall of 2021 to work with him during that basketball season.

As Austin graduated last May, I wasn't sure if Cameron would continue his position as team statistician.  He debated it as well, but decided that it served a purpose, was a great way to keep busy during the long winter months and would allow him to hang out with his friends even more.  His enthusiasm for the position increased when Keegan agreed to work as a statistician as well.

Just like last year, it has been a great season for Cameron.  Tonight, we got to see him in action as we attended our first girls' basketball game since February of 2019.  Cameron had invited Doug and I to the game as it was the girls' senior night and he would be recognized as well.  He asked his grandparents attend as well and we met at the school at 7 p.m. this evening.  Cameron had told us that the team was really good.  He was right.  They were ranked #4 in the state and it was obvious why as they controlled the game against Blackhawk Christian from the beginning, winning easily by double digits.

Senior recognition was after the varsity game.  Kiersten and KP had very nice things to say about his work as statistician for the team.  He received some fun gifts as well.  It was really nice to see all of his friends run out to hug him after the game.  They also brought him several of favorite snacks and celebrated at Culver's afterward.  Once again, Bethany showed their support for their students.  It was really wonderful to see.
