Although I will always find Bloomington to be the most beautiful town in the United States, Gainesville has definitely grown on me. At only forty minutes away, Doug and I have visited the North Florida city quite often since we moved to the sunshine state. We have loved exploring the town and have appreciated all of the native foliage. Besides the University of Florida, it also has restaurants and breweries that we have enjoyed. We can see why Tom Petty memorialized his hometown with a song and video that fit it perfectly.
Today, we purchased a membership to the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville. We had so much fun exploring the grounds, seeing the waterfalls and visiting the various gardens. We hadn't made it out of the parking lot before we started talking about our next trip to Gainesville and all that we could do.
