Sarasota

Before we left for Florida, Cameron made plans to meet up with a few of his friends from Bethany in Sarasota this week.  Unfortunately, Richard didn't arrive in time for Cameron to see him, but he did make it to the beach town today to hang out with Ricky.  Grandma and Grandpa decided to sit out this trip since we didn't know when we would be back.  While Cameron and I were gone, they relaxed, played Upwards and watched Yellowstone.

It was a long day, but Cameron had a lot of fun in Sarasota.  He and I went to Oak & Stone Brewery for lunch where they had artisan pizza.  It was also our second time getting fried pickles as an appetizer on this trip.  Cameron met Ricky after lunch and they decided to go to the beach.  We picked Siesta Key as it was the closest.  They had a great time riding the waves while I took a walk up and down the beach.  I then took them to Lido Key where they ate dinner at the Daiquiri Deck on St. Armand's Circle with Ricky's parents and several other families from Bethany.  Cameron had a great time visiting with everyone and found their food as good as Doug and I did when we ate there several months ago.  The only disappointment was finding out that they were out of mac and cheese bites.  He said that the crab cake BLT was definitely a good second choice.

While Cameron was busy with his friends I used the time to take walks and work on the computer.  I had asked him to be ready to leave at 8 p.m. and was very happy that we were on the road several minutes before then.  The traffic was light when we left Lido Key, so we were able to make it back to Ocala by 10:15 p.m.  I was definitely tired, but extremely happy that we were able to make it work out for Cameron to meet his friends.  It was important to him and I was happy to hear that he had a lot of fun today.
