Today we introduced Cameron to Bealls. Grandma and Grandpa had shopped the chain department store when they stayed in Lake Placid last winter, but Cameron had never been. He liked it as well as Meg did and found two new shirts and two new pairs of shorts. I found the perfect Florida straw hat and Grandma found a white one that she liked as well. As an added benefit we were able to take advantage of rewards day and received an extra 10% off of our purchase.
After shopping, Cameron and I took Grandma and Grandpa to Sholom Park and the World Equestrian Center. We took a walk at both. They enjoyed the pond at the park and watched Cameron feed the fish. They were impressed with the size of the WEC. We had driven in through the south side and saw areas that I had never visited before. It reminded my parents of the series that they have been watching lately, Yellowstone.
After our stops, we picked Doug up for lunch at Tijuana Flats. It was delicious as always and I was glad to spend some time with him. Doug then headed back to the office for the afternoon while Cameron and Grandpa played golf at Baseline Golf Club. Thankfully, the rain did not cut their round short and Cameron finally beat Grandpa this trip. He said that it helped that we wore him out with all of the activity this week.
Tonight we took a drive to Gainesville. Cameron wanted to show Doug, Grandma and Grandpa the University of Florida. We drove by the Tom Petty home on our way there, so they could also see that Gainesville landmark. It was smaller than everyone envisioned, but they were impressed with how big the UF campus was as well as the football stadium. The Cyprus and Palm trees added to the beauty of the campus. After our driving tour we stopped for dinner at Relish across the street from the university. Cameron and I had eaten there on our official college visit. The hamburgers were just as phenomenal as they were in November and we enjoyed picking our own toppings for the sandwiches. We returned home by 8 p.m., glad to have some time to relax before heading to bed. It was an exhausting day, but a fun one for all.
