The End of a Summer Staple

Tonight was Meg's last night of 7 v 7 for the summer and for her high school career.  She started playing in middle school when Doug was coaching the Wawasee team making this her sixth summer of Thursday night games.  When they first started teams were beating them 20 to 0.  It took some time, but Doug's team became more competitive.  I don't know how Wawasee faired this summer, but Meg's Bethany team definitely improved from their games in June with stronger defense and more accurate passing.  In fact Meg and two of her teammates had a fantastic run tonight that ended with Meg putting one of the best shots of the summer into the back of the net.  It was a fantastic way to end her summer soccer career.

I had talked Cam into going with me to Meg's games with the caveat of going to Buffalo Wild Wings afterward.  At first he declined.  He had to have a bond on his braces repaired this afternoon and his mouth was still sore.  He wasn't sure that he'd find anything that he could eat.  In the end he was happy with naked tenders and buffalo chips.  It took him awhile to finish his meal, but he was glad in the end that he came with me.
