One Last Day

Breakfast was not served until 9 a.m., so we had a chance to sleep in this morning.  That felt great after several days of traveling and sight seeing.  The meal was delicious and we enjoyed the conversation of the couple sitting with us.  They had traveled the Wisconsin side of Lake Michigan and were heading back to Arkansas though Michigan.

As it was a four hours drive home we decided to split the trip by stopping in Holland and Saugatuck.  New Holland Brewing Company had the pepperoni pinwheels that Doug loved and Saugatuck had many of my favorite shops.  I found a sweatshirt for me, a shirt for Meg and several items in the Butler’s Pantry.  It was the perfect way to spend the last day of our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Michigan.

We headed home around 3:45.  Doug wanted to catch Meg’s 7 v 7 game in Elkhart.  We arrived in plenty of time for both games.  The first one was rough as they played Elkhart Central.  Their game against Goshen’s JV was a better match, however.  While we were there, I was also able to finish my 10,000 steps.

We talked to Meg briefly after the game.  She had made plans to go to Steak N Shake with Emma and Cassie.  We stopped for dinner as well at Constant Springs before finally heading home.  Cal was still at work when we got there.  We had a couple of minutes to visit with him before falling into bed.
