I called the orthodontist first thing this morning as Cameron had another bracket slide off his front teeth. After looking in his mouth I wasn't surprised that it came off as that tooth was well behind the others. They were able to get him in this afternoon which worked well as the golf course was closed until 5:30 for the Conrad Open, so he wouldn't have been playing anyway. The orthodontist decided to leave the bracket off of the tooth that was pushed back and put a spring between the two teeth covering it. He looked even more liked Jaws from James Bond when they were done. They did explain what they were doing to Cameron, but he said that all he heard was "your teeth are unfixable." Fortunately, they will end up straight and in place. It will just take some time.
On the way home I talked Cam into stopping at Shoe Carnival. His toe was starting to come out of his Nikes and I thought a new pair of shoes for school was a great idea. He wasn't that interested at first as he really liked his current ones. We were able to find something similar and with the BOGO half off offer he ended up with two pairs of Nikes. By the time we got home he had come up with a schedule for wearing them to school and even a day for wearing a red one and a blue one together. Thus, in the end his trip to the orthodontist wasn't so bad after all.
