Three Surprises in a Day

I decided to take a week off from Bible study today as I didn't want my Tuesday morning routine to interfere with any of our plans.  I knew that Cameron would sleep in, but I would have had to go to bed early last night and miss our game night.  In the end, it worked out perfectly as the plumber called to say that he could stop by and finish putting in our garbage disposal.  I was super excited about that as our kitchen project would be finally complete.  It delayed our lunch plans, but he was finished fairly quickly and the disposal worked perfectly completing surprise number one.

Cameron picked Mooyah's for lunch.  It was a new restaurant behind Mellow Mushroom that had opened last month.  It was a lot like Shake Shack, but the best part for me was that unlike the favored hamburger place they had turkey burgers. We both liked our meals very much.  From there, we headed to Silver Springs for another afternoon of shopping.  On our way, we heard the second surprise of today.  Indiana men's basketball had hired Darian Devries as their new basketball coach.  He was the coach of West Virginia who along with IU had been snubbed by the March Madness Selection Committe.  I was completely shocked as I hadn't heard his name even mentioned during the past few weeks.  Cameron was extremely excited, so I was too, and we soaked in all of the information that he could find on the internet.

Once we arrived in Silver Springs, we first headed to Play It Again Sports.  Cameron wanted to buy new discs for disc golf, and I hoped to find a gift for Grandpa Cutes' upcoming birthday.  Thankfully, we were both successful.  We went to the Broke N Records next.  It has become one of my favorite stores for vintage albums, and we both had fun searching through the crates.  Cameron left with the Rocky II soundtrack, and I purchased the Godfather one for Doug.

While driving to our final stop of the day, The Peacock Cottage, I got a text from Nick.  He was going to land at a small airport about an hour north of us and asked to see if we wanted to catch up for dinner.  I texted yes immediately and reminded him that it was Taco Tuesday at Tijuana Flats.  He was excited to join us and even Uncle Phil agreed to meet us there.  Overall, it was a great day for surprises, and I enjoyed all three very much.
