The last few days have been absolutely crazy, and I went to bed completely exhausted tonight, but happy to have finished everything that I had set out to do. On Saturday night, the check engine light came on the dashboard of the Pilot. We hoped that maybe it was nothing, but after taking it to a local auto parts store, we found out that the code was serious enough to warrant a trip to the Honda dealer. The news we received from them wasn't disastrous to the Pilot but did mean a couple of days in the shop.
Before we found out that the Pilot needed repairs, I had committed to taking Phil for his colonoscopy on Monday. With the new countertops scheduled for Tuesday and the Pilot out of commission, I wasn't sure how I would be able to get it all done. Thankfully, the appointment went very well, and I only had to be the driver. That gave me time in the afternoon to get a lot done in between trips. Tuesday was set aside for the kitchen, which left me only Wednesday to put the kitchen back together and finish the cleaning.
I was up early this morning to get started and had a lot accomplished by noon. While I was sweeping out the garage and watering the plants, Robbi called to see if I wanted to go to lunch. Although I knew that I still had a lot to get done, I decided to take a break and meet her. I hadn't seen her since Cal's visit and was thankful for a chance to catch up with her. When I got back from McAlister's, I started putting the kitchen back together. There was a lot of dust to clean up. Each drawer had to be wiped out and the floor had to be scrubbed. It took a while, but I had everything done plus bought the plumbing supplies from Lowe's before Doug got home. I still had laundry to finish and the bathrooms to clean, but by 8:30 this evening I was finally able to sit down, eat dinner and relax for the rest of the night. It was exhausting but satisfying to finish.
