Match of the Decade

Last night was the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao boxing match that had been hyped as the "Match of the Decade."   Cal and Reider called from the golf course around 8 to see if they could have friends over to watch it.  As it was on Pay Per View we weren't exactly sure how to get it live, but we told them they could try and see.  Once they got home and realized it was $90 they decided to call a couple of friends and have everyone chip in to share the expense and the experience.

They were able to get enough people here to pay for all except for $10.  Doug was ok with that as he wanted to watch it as well and this gave him the perfect excuse to pay for it.  The fight didn't start until 11:00 p.m. I was fast asleep by then, but those that made it up had a lot of fun watching it together.  They did also make a Taco Bell run around 9:45 p.m. and downed a gallon of Gatorade before the night was over.  I woke up a couple of times to the sound of cheering that only a group of friends can make.

The fight was not quite as good as the hype made everyone believe it would be.  Both Doug and Cal felt that Pacquiao controlled the fight, but the judges and announcers all felt differently as Mayweather was crowned the champion.  I am not a fan of boxing, but I did enjoy knowing that Cal and his friends had created a great memory.
