Today was the Bob Turner Classic golf tournament at Tippy Country Club. I didn't think they would get it in as the forecast called for rain all day and there was a downpour around 4:45. They were able to finish all 18 holes, however, and the boys finished 3rd beating both Northwood and Warsaw. Penn finished a close second only two strokes ahead of Wawasee. No one was touching Bishop Dwenger who finished 21 shots better than Wawasee with a 300.
Cal shot a 78 tonight. We were all proud of him as the weekend had been a rough one at the NLC and last week's 48 was not the round he wanted. At first Cal didn't even think he was playing this evening. Steve had called and said Cal would have to sit out so Maclain could have a turn on varsity. Maclain, however, in the end wasn't able to make it. I'm glad Cal got a chance to put in another 18 hole score before sectionals. He has been working on his game a lot and it is fun to see him reap the benefits of it. Thursday is a grudge match with Columbia City who is a state ranked team. Then they only have sectionals to practice for. The regular season has gone by quickly. I hope the post season last a little longer.
