Meg's confirmation was this evening at Sacred Heart Church. We were so pleased with the evening. Brett was her sponsor and made the trip up last night to be with her. Doug' Dad, Godmother Jeannette, Pittsburgh Mike and my parents were all able to join us as well. The Bishop gave a wonderful homily, challenging the students to be strong in their Catholic faith. He also explained each step of their journey into adulthood in the church. Meg looked beautiful and wore her Saint name well - St. Germaine Cousin.
Once the service was over and the pictures were taken we all retreated to our house for dinner. Doug had make brats and chili con queso ahead of time and my Mom brought potato salad, macaroni salad, cheese, deviled eggs and a lot of pickles. We purchased a beautiful cake for the event which left Meg saying, "This is the best cake I have ever had!" Her gifts were gorgeous and we were all impressed with the name poem Jeannette had had made for her. Tonight was a blessing and one I won't soon forget. I know Meg feels the same way!
