That's What You Get for Being a Mom

After spending Wednesday night and part of Thursday morning with Doug in the hospital for kidney stones, I went to bed early last night as I was absolutely exhausted. Around midnight, Cameron called as he had just gotten the information from Cora about booking a flight to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. It took me a few minutes to become fully conscious but once I did, I was able to help getting Cameron a flight from Orlando to Los Angeles on the afternoon of December 30th, and a return flight for January 2nd. It worked with Cora's parents schedule and with ours as well. I was happy for Cameron, and thankful to go back to bed relatively quickly. This morning, I mentioned something to Cameron about my lack of sleep the past few nights and his reply was, “That’s what you get for being a mom!” I couldn't argue with that and laughed about his comment all day.

Thankfully, I did catch up on sleep last night and woke up to find out that Doug had passed his kidney stone. He was no longer in pain, and we were both relieved that it had happened relatively quickly. Because it was late in the morning and his company had a Christmas party this afternoon, Doug decided to work from home again. It was nice to have him here on such a beautiful day and as soon as he was done at 2 this afternoon, we were able to spend the rest of the day together. We went to Gainesville so that I could finish my Christmas shopping stopping at Relish and Swamp Head as well. Once we got back to Ocala, we drove around looking at Christmas lights, picked up dessert at Publix and watched White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street. It was definitely my favorite day of the week.
