I went to bed tonight completely exhausted with every muscle in my body aching. I had been on my feet all day long cleaning and running errands and couldn’t wait to lie down and rest. Cleaning by far is the hardest activity for me to do, and I was incredibly thankful to be done.
Although I spent most of the day doing some of my least favorite activities, that didn’t mean that it was a bad day. In fact, there were plenty of wonderful things that happened. Doug was invited to a holiday dinner with the management team and thoroughly enjoyed it. My dad got some great news regarding his health. Brett and Karen finished packing and were ready to leave tomorrow for their trip to Florida. Cal got to watch his beloved Hoosier basketball team destroy another opponent. Meg figured out a problem at work and Cameron set up a vintage hi-fi system for Cora’s parents.
Even though all of these were wonderful, my favorite part of today was going to our church for the annual communal penance. I met with Father Bill for the first time and felt so much better after his blessing that I actually teared up. It has been a tough year, but things are on the upswing. Sharing that with God was by far the best part of my day.
