Today was a day for catching up with others. It started at Milford school where Meg and I met Mr. Larson. She has to job shadow two different people this fall and decided that she wanted to make a priority of being in his classroom. She had actually talked about it since she was in 8th grade, so it was fun to see it come to fruition. There were some hoops to jump through since she was no longer a student at Wawasee, but he and I were able to get her approved. It was a lot of fun talking with him and listening to Meg catch him up on her life as a senior. The more she talked, the more I couldn't believe how fast the past six years had flown by. Mr. Larson has been an important part of her educational life. It will be strange when she will no longer be able to pop in and visit with him.
Tonight Doug and I had dinner with Ron and Sara at Mad Anthony's. They had texted us in July and asked if we would like to get together as it had been quite some time since we had gone out with them. As we talked I realized that they were in a different place in life then we were as all of the children have finished their degrees and were looking to enter the workforce. Everyone in their family was twenty-one and their sons will all be married by mid-October. They even have grandchildren already. Although Doug and I weren't quite ready for that phase of life, we enjoyed listening to their stories and looking at the pictures on their summer trip down Route 66. Overall, it was a nice way to spend a Monday night.
