Doug picked Cam up from soccer practice tonight at 5 p.m. I had encouraged him to try it as his leg was feeling better. He said that he made it without any pain. That was great to hear. It also was a fun practice filled with a lot of games, which made it even better. As soon as they got home we headed to Bloomington. I had spent the day packing, so we only had to worry about remembering Cam's book before we left. The trip down was pretty easy. Cam read about the Donner party while Doug and I planned our next few months activities. We were pleased to see that there were two lanes open on 37 which really help with congestion.
We arrived at Brett's a couple of minutes after nine. Cal was already there waiting on us. I had texted the boys all day about possible places to eat dinner at this evening. We finally settled on Crazy Horse. Cal didn't remember ever eating there and it had been quite some time since Brett had been. We were seated right away and even though they were packed, we got our dinner fairly quickly. Brett said that his fish was a little dry, but other than that the food was delicious especially Cal and Doug's salmon BLTs. I thoroughly enjoyed the boys' conversation. I had been missing that.
Meg called while we were eating. She had just gotten home from senior night for the boys' soccer team. It went well and she was heading over to Grandma's for the evening. We had hoped to bring Meg too, but with her soccer commitments we knew it was best that she stayed in Syracuse. We ended the evening by starting the movie Halloween. Cameron had never seen it and I was in the mood for a scary movie. It was good as we remembered.
