Cam and Meg both had games this evening. Since Meg's game was away and Cam's was home we had to split up. It was easier for Doug to get to Trinity, so he took that game. Mom and I then were available for Cameron's against Westview. Both Cam and Meg's teams played hard, but just couldn't find the net. Cam's team looked as though they were going to pull off the upset at first when they quickly found themselves with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, Westview woke up and preceded to dominate the rest of the game winning 5-2. Cam took the loss pretty hard as two of the shots deflected off of him and through the goalie's hands. It was tough to convince him that those were good, hard shots and it would have been hard to stop either of them. We also realized that when the ball was continually in front of their goal, it probably didn't matter much. Thankfully, there was a volleyball game afterward so he had time to hang out with his friends before we took him home.
Although Meg's team lost 2-0, she felt very good about how she played. She said that she was aggressive to the ball and played hard. Many of Meg's teammates were upset afterward, but Meg didn't take the loss personally. Trinity had already beaten LaVille, so she knew it would be difficult to pull of the victory. She and Sarah called me on the way home to check-in. Meg gave me the highlights and then was happy to find out that we had brought back Little Caesar's for her. Doug was afraid that she would be upset that he didn't stay afterward to talk to her. With two games ending at the same time he wasn't sure that he would be able to get out of the parking lot. When Meg saw him leave, she knew that he was "trying to make good time by beating the traffic!"
