Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at home.  Doug and my Mom made the food with all of the traditionals including turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.  We played Clue and several other games before lunch.  I was on cleanup duty when we realized that the garbage disposal was clogged.  Luckily, Dad could help us out and we were able to go ahead with desserts.  The guys all played pool after dinner and Doug was pretty pumped up that he predicted the Bears score correctly.  Made their loss seem not quite so tough to take.

Meg, Cam, Doug and I all went shopping in South Bend in the evening.  More stores were open this year, but Barnes & Noble was not one of them.  Thus, Brett decided to stay at home.  We got to Target first and couldn't believe the line.  Meg and I laughed while waiting as I said, "I don't even need anything from Target.  I just have to use the restroom."  We didn't venture into the electronics as it was a zoo there.  Cam did find a couple of pairs of pants that were 40% off and we bought our giving tree gift for church.

The next stop was the mall.  It was busy there as well, but easier to move around in.  Meg got some great deals at both Hollister and AEO.  Yankee Candle did not have the same sales as last year, but we did get some good gifts.  Doug did some Christmas shopping.  We then headed to Kohl's.  I bought an electric griddle for school and after my rebate it will be free!  We stopped for snacks at Dairy Queen on the way home.  Even with the snow we were back by 9:30 p.m.  We liked the earlier start to "Black Friday" this year.

When we got home Cal's friends were over playing Tripoly and watching football.  Brett used his free time to play video games.  He hasn't played in a very long time and was looking forward to the down time when he was here on break.  After he was done we decided to watch Usual Suspects while he worked on a paper for class.  Brett really likes Kevin Spacey and so do I.  We have all had a great Thanksgiving.  There is a lot to be thankful for this year.
