I was up early this morning and worked on library items and laundry. Doug was also up early as Cam had a chess tournament in Warsaw. Cal had a basketball retreat last night so he wasn't home until the afternoon. Brett and Meg took time last night and several hours today to come up with her Saint for confirmation and also to plan a lesson for FCA.
Doug's Dad arrived this afternoon shortly before Cam and Cal got home. Cam had a great morning and afternoon. He won four of his five rounds of chess and finished 2nd out of the 24 fourth graders participating. He brought home a nice trophy and Evan did as well finishing in 4th place. Doug said that both boys had a great time and spent the day hanging out, cheering each other on and playing chess together. Cal didn't say much about his retreat, but I am sure he had a lot of fun. He took several short naps throughout the day catching up from the lack of sleep last night. His ankle is already a lot better and he was hoping to ditch the crutches. We told him to stay on them as both the doctor and the trainer at the high school want him too. I felt good about that.
We had dinner at home and then Brett, Cam, Meg and I went to Bethany Christian to watch their high school production of A Christmas Carol. We all liked it a lot. Doug and Cal stayed home and played cards with Carl. The Heinisch family packs a lot into Saturdays, but they are usually a lot of fun.
