Haphazardly Ever After

Tonight Doug and I dropped Cam off for the last Bruin Club of the year.  The activity revolved around the middle school play.  It was longer than usual and I didn't know if Cam would like it.  I should have never doubted it.  He had a wonderful time and is now thinking that he would like to be part of drama in middle school.  He talked about it all the way home and was proud of the new flashlight they gave him.

After this week we are all getting excited about Cameron attending Bethany Christian next year.  We had a meeting with the admissions director on Wednesday and were able to ask any questions that we wanted.  Cameron asked several that surprised me.  He had put a lot of thought into them and she gave him some reassuring responses that set his mind at ease.  Cam is ready to be challenged and to go to school with students a lot like him.  He likes their discipline plan and now knows that his classroom should be more of a quiet, engaging learning environment.

Doug and I asked a lot of logistics questions - where does he keep his inhaler, what time can we drop him off, what is the daily schedule, etc.  She explained their mentoring program and their extracurricular philosophy.  All of these sounded wonderful to us.  Tonight he said to me, "Eighteen more days, Mom and then I move on."  Glad that he is so excited about it.
