The one downside to having a white vinyl is keeping it clean. Mold, mildew and black fungus are common in Florida especially during rainy season. No matter how much we spot clean, about once a year the fence needs a deep cleaning. When I saw the mildew return on the back side of the fence this fall, my heart sank. It had taken me over seven hours to clean it the last time and it was a killer on my arms. With the back of the fence needing attention and the black fungus growing on the side door from our neighbor's fence, I decided to ask Doug what he thought about me getting a quote from a local company to clean it for us. I was surprised that he agreed as in the past he preferred that we do that type of work ourselves. He must have felt the same way I did about the drudgery of the project.
Instead of researching a whole bunch of companies, I decided to contact a person that owned a pressure washing company in our neighborhood. I didn't know the owner but had seen that he had gotten great reviews from neighbors on the Majestic Oaks Facebook page. He and his partner came over shortly after I messaged them, gave us a quote that sounded reasonable to me and today came out and cleaned my fence thoroughly. They also cleaned our patio that needed some attention after a chair stained the cement. The money was definitely worth the time it saved me as well as the wear and tear on my body. Doug was equally impressed as he was skeptical from the beginning that anyone could get the black fungus off of the fence door. In the end, I was extremely glad to have that project crossed off of our yearly to-do list.
