We met the Doyle family in the breakfast Café at the Pfister Hotel this morning for a meal together before we left to go back to Chicago. It was such a fun weekend, and we were really glad that they invited us to spend it with them. Cal fits very well into their family and I’m very glad that he has found a support system in Chicago.
The trip back to the Windy City was quick. There was one horrible accident, but fortunately our road was not blocked from it. Cal dropped us off at Meg‘s apartment and went home to do laundry. We hung out with Meg and Nick for about an hour before Nick took us to Midway for our flight back home. I had requested that we fly standby on an earlier flight which would get us back to Orlando two hours earlier than scheduled. Fortunately, there were plenty of seats on it and we were able to leave Chicago by 3:30. We didn’t get to sit together, but both of us were glad to be able to go home and sleep in our own bed tonight.
The flight was an easy one and I watched Chicago Fire the entire trip. We found our car with no problem and an hour and a half later we were at home relaxing. It had been a nice week in Indiana and wonderful time in Chicago.
