All day long they had called for freezing rain to hit this afternoon. I made sure to run errands after physical therapy, so I didn't have to go out later. We got a text around 2:45 letting us now that all after school activities for Bethany were cancelled. Meg was thankful for a night off from practice so she could work on some items at home. Cam was disappointed, however, to miss an afternoon of chess. They made it home safely by 4:15 p.m.
Doug left work at 5:15. He said that the parking lot was a sheet of ice, but the roads weren't terrible. He just drove slower than normal. His meeting at the church was postponed to next week and for the first time ever tennis was cancelled. My Mom called before Doug got here to let us know that Dad had fell walking out to get the paper. He cut his head and already had a goose egg started. Doug offered to take him to urgent care, but they wanted to wait and give it some time.
We ended the quiet evening at home by watching IU vs Northwestern. It was an ugly game and one that left all of us disappointed once again. Cal texted to let us know that he was converting to a Rutgers fan. I think after tonight we may all join Cam in supporting the Scarlet Nights.
