All week the weather forecasters predicted snow. Since it wasn't coming from the lake it was easier for them to track and at 11 a.m. just as promised the snow began to fall. I was glad that I walked early as it did not stop snowing until close to midnight. Thankfully, it did not effect Cam's chess tournament. Doug was able to get him to Goshen and back without incident. Cam was happy to report that he finished 1 and 1 on the day which put him in a tie for first. With the tiebreakers calculated, he not only qualified for the state tournament in two weeks, but also finished in first place at Regionals. We were impressed.
Since the snow was pretty heavy by late afternoon, Doug told Meg that he would take her to Bethany for tonight's game. Just as they were getting ready to leave, Meg got a text letting her know that the game was cancelled. With that information we decided to just enjoy a quiet night at home. Doug made chicken curry for Meg and minestrone for the rest of us. We played several rounds of Mario Kart, watched Big Ten basketball and the NFL playoffs, finished La La Land and started my Peter Pan puzzle. It had been quite some time since the four of us hung out together on a Saturday night and we all enjoyed it very much.
