The first week back to school for everyone went by quickly. Meg realized that her last semester in high school would be relatively easy compared to the previous seven. She not only has two study halls, but also will be an office assistant during the morning. She does have AP Government, AP English and Spanish III that will keep her challenged, but overall it shouldn't be too bad. Cam adjusted to not having basketball practice pretty well. He was happy to add art to his schedule and has adjusted to a new English teacher (his fourth in two years) as well.
Cal and Brett both had good first weeks at IU. Cal's was pretty quiet overall. Brett learned about his CAPS project at the Bustard Chumley which he was excited about. The best part of the week for him, however, was a job interview as a Deputy Director for the town of Shelbyville. He felt it went well and was optimistic about it afterward. It would be a great first position and in the perfect location for him. He will have to wait until next week to find out if he was selected to move on in the application process.
I finished cleaning the house this afternoon. It felt great to be done. With everyone home for the holidays it took a little longer than normal. Doug had a successful week at work. He had been given a raise in appreciation of all of his hard work. That was nice to hear as 2018 had been an expensive year for the Heinisch family with Bethany and IU's tuitions and several other expenses that had arisen unexpectedly. Tonight we enjoyed a dinner out at Kelley Jae's. We hadn't been there in quite some time and had a wonderful time.
