This morning Cam and Doug were up early so that they could make it to Bloomington for the IU vs. Purdue football game in time to tailgate before the noon kickoff. My Dad had given them tickets to the game with access to a buffet. Brett left with them. He had enjoyed his week at home, but was ready to get back to IU. I had thought about going with them, but realized that it was easier if I stayed back and worked on the Christmas. Cal and Meg were home today, so it also gave me a chance to hand out with them.
The day ended up being a great one for all. Doug and Cam had an awesome time at the game and were pleased with their seats and the food. IU lost, but it was a good game and the weather was nice which made it more enjoyable. They made it home in time for Doug and I to go to dinner and for Cam to watch the Notre Dame game with Cal. Brett used his free time today to do some shopping and to walk around campus. He had a lot of homework to complete while he was home and was pleased with all that he had accomplished. Meg worked on an essay for the Kelley Business School and then went to practice. Afterward she went to dinner with Sarah at Buffalo Wild Wings and then came back here for the night. They decorated Meg's Christmas tree in her room and also played Wii U. There was a lot of laughter from the basement and several videos posted on SnapChat from their evening.
Cal and I had a fun day together and were productive as well. I packed up the Thanksgiving while he took it all downstairs for me. Once I got the house dusted, he then brought up the Christmas tubs so that I could start organizing it all. While we were decorating for the holidays we had plenty of time to watch football as well. The games started at noon with IU vs. Purdue and Michigan vs. Ohio State. It ended at 12:45 a.m. with an exciting seven overtime thriller between Texas A& M and LSU. At the end of the game we realized that every team that Cal favored lost today. No matter the outcome of the games it was a lot of fun spending time with him.
