The Heinisch children more than survived week one, but would have all considered it a success. Cal started his senior year and after day two decided that lifetime sports wasn't for him. He switched to accounting and is much happier with that. He has taken Meg every morning for us and so far they have gotten along very well. He and his friends only tormented her at lunch once, but she didn't seem to mind. When Jared threatened to tell Cal some important information about Meg, she said, "Go ahead. He'll just beat you up!" She has seemed a lot happier so far and has navigated her classes and lunch without any problems.
Cal and Meg both had their first scrimmage this week and had success. Their official seasons starts next week and we are all excited to see them play. Both went to the high school football scrimmage tonight. Cal had to pop popcorn for the concession stand. Meg hung out with Kaitlyn and Preston.
Cam had an awesome first full week. I met with his teacher on Wednesday and she said he is doing fantastic. He brought his iPad home last night and enjoyed using that. He also finished his mobile for "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh." He came down to sleep in our room last night. When I asked him what was wrong, he said, "Nothing. I am just too excited about school to sleep!" That was music to our ears! What a great start to the school year!!
