Today started with Meg and Doug working at the Kiwanis triathlon. They both enjoyed it and Meg had some good stories to tell once she got home. They scrimmaged afterward on the main field. Meg scored while playing with the varsity. Even better it was with her left foot. She also was proud of the fact that she got number 11. That was Doug's jersey number in high school and she wanted to carry on the tradition.
The rest of the day we waited for Brett to come home. He called several times to give us updates. This morning he was able to finish packing, get breakfast and return his cable remote before inspection time. I was proud to hear that they felt his apartment was in fantastic shape and that Brett should expect a full refund on his deposit. Brett was pretty pumped up about that.
After he checked out he drove to Morrisville for a barbeque hosted by the congressmen he interned for this summer - Luke Messer. He was thrilled to tell us of all of the politicians that he met and thanked us many times for allowing him to do this internship. We are thrilled that it went so very well for him. We didn't know last Spring how it would all turn out, but it was a great experience for him. He learned a lot, made several contacts and is ready to start his senior year. We will enjoy the next couple of weeks with him at home.
