Meg and I took Cameron to his first day at Bethany Christian this morning. Cam was up and ready to go. He said he was nervous, but not scared. We walked in with him and made sure he had everything. As we pulled away Meg said, "I am not worried about Cameron. I know this will be great for him." Honestly, I feel the same way.
Meg and I headed to South Bend after we dropped Cam off. This was back to school shopping day for her. We were able to stop at Dick's, Kohl's, Hollister, American Eagle and Journey's before lunch. Meg found some awesome clothes and shoes for herself. She picked out some new practice clothes for soccer and also found a couple of items for Brett, Cal and Cam. She chose Noodles and Company for lunch. We didn't know it was a chain, but appreciated finding out. We stopped at Target to see if they had Cam's Lego and pick up Cal's school supplies. He hates back to school shopping, so we didn't mind.
We didn't have any luck on the Lego, but she did find a Jurassic World shirt for Cam and new splat balls which he appreciated a lot! His had run out of steam long ago. I picked Cam up at 3:30 and he was excited to tell me about the shoe game they played, the Dilly Bars they received, the awesome lunch and the fact that he will get to use an iPad and a Google Chrome book in his classroom. He said the hard part was not knowing a lot of people, but he was excited about the fact that they will be using flipped instruction for math. Overall, it was a good experience and Cam knows it will only keep getting better.
