This afternoon I met with the ankle orthopedic specialist. He was positive that my tarsal nerve was fine and that the pain I was feeling was from the old break and the scar tissue it left. The ankle along with the tendonitis in my achilles tendon were what he felt needed to be addressed. The first options he suggested were injections or surgery. After a thorough examination of my foot, however, he decided to let me try physical therapy instead. I was glad to hear that as I have had really good luck with it in the past. I will have to stay on my medication for the next month as well. I will then meet with him again to reevaluate my progress. I was so happy to have a plan that I drove right over to Joan's and made an appointment with her to get started with the physical therapy.
Meg was almost home by the time I got there as her practice was cancelled tonight. She was very happy to have a break. Even getting her meningitis shot didn't detour her mood. I was glad that she was able to make it to the doctor as we have been trying for several weeks to get her in. Practice and school had made that almost impossible. After the doctor's Meg decided to drive with me to get my haircut. I was excited to finally get it cut. Although Meg wouldn't agree, my hair was pretty long for me. It looked great in the end and we had fun catching up with Amanda as well.
