Today was Phil's 44th birthday. Since we had been in DeKalb, I had thought a lot about him these past few days. With Jeanette's death and his move to Atlanta, we don't see him as much as we used to. Even though this is true, the Heinisch children still think the world of him. As soon as they hear that he may be in the area they make plans to spend time with him. They speak of him often and really appreciate the notes of encouragement that he sends.
Doug called him tonight to wish him a Happy Birthday and to catch up. We have a box of memories to send to him from our weekend adventure and hope to get together with him some time this summer. All of us wish he lived closer, but for now phone calls and notes will have to do.
