Today was my Mom and Dad's 54th anniversary. When I think about how many years that really is, it is amazing, especially knowing that it was pretty tough with Bunk dying. My parents are survivors and that says a lot. As Rocky so famously said, “Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward."
My parents kept moving forward and the Heinisch family appreciates that. Tonight to celebrate Cam and Meg took them to dinner at Maria's. Meg said they even tried not to bicker (Meg and Cam - not Grandma and Grandpa.) The older boys may not have been able to attend dinner, but both reached out to them on social media to wish them a Happy Anniversary.
My Dad posted this picture below. Our family has grown since it was taken in 1987, just like their love for one another. Happy Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa! Glad that the Heinisch children could help you celebrate!!
