Cal was moved to singles at tennis once again. They switched him and the #3 singles player in anticipation of next's years lineup. Cal hadn't played singles yet this year, but he looked at home to me. The player from Concord was a foot shorter than Cal, but had a nice serve. At first we thought it might be a tough match. Cal held his own, however, finishing with the only win of the night for Wawasee at 6-1, 6-1.
It was great to see Cal win again. It wasn't very challenging for him, but it gave him some experience back at singles. The Concord coach complained that Cal was at #3 and not higher up. Guess that will have to be something his coaches figure out. Until then Cam and I will enjoy watching him all the same. Although, he definitely was more vocal at doubles. Cam's favorite comment so far came at the Whitko match. His opponent whiffed an overhead and Cal said, "Strike one!" Love it!
