Today was the first day of the garage sale. The Heinisch children cleared out a lot this year and we spent a good part of this week pricing and organizing the sale. Last night I was in a panic that our sale would be a bust and we would have to load everything back up and figure out where we would store it all. Boy was I wrong. This was by far the best Thursday we have ever had at a garage sale.
Cal did the best out of everyone, but he had the most to sell. This was the first year that he could really clear out his toys as Cameron was still using a lot of them. His Rescue Heros, GI Joes, and Ninja turtles were big money makers. Cal also cleared his room out on Sunday and sold many of his baseball cards, football jerseys and the golf balls that he and Kyle went hunting for this week. By the end of the day Cal made close to $200. The rest of the Heinisch children did well also as they each had brought in almost $100 a piece.
It started to rain around 4 p.m., so we brought a lot of the items in from the driveway quickly. Even in the disorganization that ensued we had a rush of customers. By the time we closed the garage doors I was ecstatic. It was nice to make the money, but mostly it felt great to get rid of the boxes of items that we had decided to part with.
