Before Christmas break Brett called and asked if he could go with his Bible study group to New York City on a mission trip over Spring Break. We told him that he had to gather information for us - where are they going, what are they doing, who is going with them and how much would it cost. Brett followed through with all of the information and we decided that we would pay for him to go.
He called several times this week to review what he should take. Both Doug and I talked about safety tips in a big city with him. He was up bright and early Saturday morning for the adventure. The RUF leader is a Presbyterian minister that Brett really likes. He and his wife are also leading this mission trip, so I felt pretty good about that. The boys posted a selfie when they started and their enthusiasm was apparent.
Today I realized just what a wonderful opportunity this is for Brett. Not only does he get to participate in a worthy mission of mentoring inner city youth, he also gets to sight see in a place full of history. He posted pictures of Times Square and the grave of Alexander Hamilton this afternoon. I can't wait to hear about all of his adventures this week.
