On Our Way

This was a long week for several of us, but we made it through.  It was easier to do so knowing that this afternoon we would be leaving for Bloomington.  Cam had chess practice right after school, but agreed to leave at 4:30 so we could be on the road by 5.  Meg and I got everything packed and in the van by 4:15 so that we fill up with gas and buy Burger King before Doug and Cam got home.  They arrived right on time and we were on the road at 5 p.m. ready for a weekend at IU.

The sun was out today and it made the trip down a lot easier as we were past Indy by the time it set.  Traffic was light and even with stopping once we were able to reach B-town by 8:30.  Parce called as we rolled into town to say that he was just leaving Columbus.  He and Doug had talked about going to see Hairbangers Ball at the Bluebird, but they started at 9 and they weren't sure they would make it.  Instead Doug, Meg, Cam and I went to Mother Bears.  Since the restaurant opened a new location west of town we have had no problem getting in and were seated within 5 minutes.  Cal had told us that he would be busy Friday night, so we didn't see him either, but we still enjoyed the pizza and Meg and Cam's conversation.  Parce was home by the time we got there.  Meg and Cam filled him in on their week at school until all of us decided it was time to get some sleep.
