She's Home

After two weeks in the nursing home, my mom was sent home yesterday.  Once the insurance found out that she could walk sixty steps with her walker that was all they needed to release her.  My parents and my Aunt Vicky were completely shocked, but in the end, my mom was glad to be in her own home with her seventy-five-inch television in front of her.  It took my parents some time to get her from the car, up the walk and into the living room, but they made it without incidence.

Today, my mom had an electronic chair delivered that would help her get up from a sitting position and would also allow her to sleep without having to go upstairs.  Home health and physical therapy should start soon, and Aunt Vicky made arrangements to stay with them for a few days.  I know that it will take some time, but hopefully by the time my dad finishes with radiation, my mom will be able to move around the main level of the house easily.
