It was an exciting day for Doug as he turned fifty-five years old, or as we learned playing Bingo at Tippy Country Club years ago, the Ol' Double Nickel. I was excited for Doug. It had been a stressful couple of years for him, especially with his job at Champion, the tremors and a family relationship that had gone sour. My wish for him was a stress free filled with more days off, fun family time and multiple trips to the Midwest and more.
Besides the birthday wish, we did have a fun day celebrating Doug's birthday. He and I played Ticket to Ride. Phil came over for dinner, and we watched him open his Beverly shirt from Meg and Nick, Aerosmith's "Pump" on vinyl from me, and a book on Paul and John from Cal. He appreciated them very much as well as the corn liquor that Brett gave him earlier. Cameron planned on celebrating with him when he arrived next week. It was fun to hear all of the calls from everyone, and it was a great night of playing games, with good food and a lot of games. I was glad that Meg was here to celebrate with us. It made the evening even more fun, and we all loved her delicious dessert. Overall, it was a great start to number fifty-five, and I pray for a year of health and happiness for Doug.
