Cal and Maggie decided to stop and see Grandma Jane today on their way to Maggie's family's lake house in Michigan. I was incredibly glad that they got to visit with her and my dad. They filled them in on the wedding and spent several hours with them. Maggie had not seen Grandma Jane since she had her stroke, but Cal had visited her as soon as she got to the nursing home. He couldn't believe how well she was doing compared to a couple of weeks ago. She was getting up out of bed better and was speaker a lot more clearly. I was really glad to hear that.
While they were in Syracuse, Cal was also able to introduce Maggie to Chubbie's. Doug and I weren't sure that that was a good thing, but he was excited about it. Maggie seemed to like it and even came home with her own Chubbie's pint glass. Overall, it was a great trip for the two of them and I was very happy that they were able to stop in Northern Indiana today.
