Mass

Tonight we had a substitute priest as Father Hire was on vacation.  We didn't realize how accustomed to our own priest we have become.  I don't remember having a guest priest in the past five years.  This priest we had this evening did a nice job and I am not against change, but it just didn't feel the same.  The homily was longer and a little bit repetitive.  The prayers were different, but we made it through just fine.  As Father Hire closes in on retirement age I know that we will have a new priest.  For now I will appreciate the familiarity of his mass and enjoy the time we have with him!
