It absolutely amazes me that as of today, Doug has officially been at SI Goldman for one year. I know that it was tough at first, not knowing anyone, commuting an hour and a half, and learning an entire new accounting system, but am incredibly pleased that he made the switch. These last few months have been the happiest that I have seen Doug at work in over four years. He has learned a lot, and we have come up with a plan that has helped with his commute as well. Doug even has his own fan club at the Taco Bell drive thru near his workplace as the women there have his bean burrito with no onions and diablo sauce ready for him as soon as he pulls up to the order kiosk.
It was incredibly nice to see Doug smile today when I asked him about his one-year anniversary. His boss not only acknowledged the date but wished him many more years at SI Goldman as well. Doug also shared with me that he had no memories of working at Champion either. I was incredibly happy to hear both. Change is hard. This career switch was definitely worth it.
