Appreciate Your Time Before It's Too Late

This showed up on my social media feed recently and it actually made me smile. I doubt that was the reaction that the author expected when they posted it, but I was just so happy to see that there were others that felt exactly as I did.  Our family had endured this situation for the past ten years and I thought that we were alone in this sentiment.

After thinking about it, my smiled faded.  The post started to make me feel sad as I realized that it wouldn't make a difference.  The grandparents that fit into this category wouldn't see the post and even if they did, it wouldn't change their behavior either because they didn't care or they were too busy blaming their children or grandchildren for the failed relationship.  I don't know about the author, but I had long ago given up on trying to mend the situation and instead focused on the grandparents who did care.  It made life a lot easier.  As the Bible verse Galatians 6:7 states "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." That is the perfect answer to any grandparent who completely disregards their grandchildren by choice.
