The A Team

Tonight the A soccer team played against Argos at home.  Argos has notoriously had a fantastic soccer program for both boys and girls.  They are a small school, not much bigger than Bethany.  As they also do not have a football program their fall emphasis tends to be on soccer.  We weren't sure what to think going into the first game.  We realized that Cam may not play much if at all.  It started off well for Bethany.  Cam's team has three eighth graders that are some of the best that we have seen for their age.  The goalie is not only excellent as a keeper, but he is also six feet tall.  Bethany scored early and took a 1-0.  We were impressed that the coach then started putting in his subs. Cameron definitely got to play and did a nice job at fullback.  It was fun to see how much he had improved from last year.  Although not the focus, it was also nice that the boys won 2-0.

Meg stopped by the soccer game to check how it was going before she headed to a party.  One of the boys were having a group over and she was glad to be invited.  She said that it was a lot of fun.  They rode around in a golf cart and hung out.  She made it home by 10 p.m. which gave her plenty of time to relax and share stories with us before she headed to bed.  It was awesome listening to her talk.  She has only been in school a couple of weeks, and she has already made quite a few friends.
